Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All pregnant patients undergoing elective or emergency Cesarean section.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Severe anemia. History of fever within 7 days. Chorioamniotis in rupture of membrane. Immunocompromised patients who are proned to infection.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Incidence of surgical site infection.Timepoint: Within 30 days post operative period.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Type of SSI. Whether SSI occurs during hospital stay or after being discharged from hospital. Additional length of hospital stay due to SSI. Need for hospital readmission. Need for resuturing. Need for any therapeutic antibiotic. Timepoint: Within 30 days post operative period.
