Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: all patients posted for mitral valve surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a. History of symptomatic cerebrovascular disease with residual deficit, b. History of psychiatric illness (any clinical diagnoses requiring therapy) c. Significant hepatic insufficiency (liver function tests >1.5times the upper limit of normal), d. Significant renal insufficiency (creatinine levels >2 mg/dl) e. Patients with primary pulmonary disease will be excluded by history, physical examination and radiological investigation f. Patients with musculoskeletal involvement of the chest and thoracic spine were not taken. g. Patient refusal
