Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: To determine femoral and radial arterial pressure difference before, during and after cardiopulmonary bypass and to calculate the bias and limits of agreement during various phases of the surgery 1. To determine whether the bias is correlated with a) Use of intravenous vasoactive agents b) Systemic vascular resistance

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who are on pre operative intravenous vasoactive drugs, such as inotropes and vasodilators and patients requiring Intra Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) support will be excluded from the study.

MeasureTime frame
There was no significant femoro-radial gradient in the systolic, mean or diastolic pressure before, during or after CPB. What small bias there was, was not correlated with either cardiac output or systemic vascular resisatance. Administration of vasoconstrictor drugs reduced the femoro-radial gradient. We conclude that there is no significant femoro-radial gradient in adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery under CPB, when appropriately sized arterial cannulas are used. Timepoint: Intra operative 3 to 5.5hours

MeasureTime frame
We did not find any significant femoro-radial gradient (bias) in either systolic, mean or diastolic pressure at any phase during the surgery. We also did not see any correlation of bias with SVR.Timepoint: Intra operative 3 to 5.5hours
