Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients with hypertension above the age of 18 years based on the criteria described by Whelton et al., 2017.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients less than 18 years of age 2. Patients with secondary hypertension 3. Failure to obtain informed consent from the participant 4. Pregnant females 5. Patients with AIDS 6. Patients with severe systemic illness 7. Patients taking drugs like corticosteroids, nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory agents, tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors
