Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients within the age group of 20-40 years, with a histological diagnosis of Oral submucous fibrosis. Patients who had signed the informed consent on approved format.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients presenting with co existing malignancy/white lesions. Patients with known allergy to drugs. Patients who are previously treated for Oral submucous fibrosis. Patients not willing for biopsy. Patients with any systemic disease.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the efficacy of Curcumin and in intralesional Steroid injections in the management of oral submucous fibrosis.Timepoint: 15 days for 3 months for curcumin capsules. Weekly for 3 months for intralesional Steroid injections.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the Curcumin capsule and intralesional injection of Steroid in the management of OSMF with regard to: 1) Burning sensation. 2) Interincisal distance. 3) Tongue protrusion. 4) Cheek flexibility. Timepoint: 15 days for 3 months for curcumin capsules. Weekly for 3 months for intralesional Steroid injections.
