Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1 To compare the anaesthetic effect (onset & duration of sensory & motor blockade)during epidural anaesthesia with levobupivacaine plus dexmedetomidine vs. racemic Bupivacaine plus dexmedetomidine in patients undergoing vaginal hysterectomy. 2 To compare the effect of dexmedetomidine on haemodynamic stability either with racemic or levo bupivacaine Timepoint: anesthetic effect will be monitored intraoperative and post operative till two segment sensory regression and motor garde 0 achived. hemodynamic parameters monitored intraoperatively | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1.To compare the effect of dexmedetomidine added to local anaesthetic(either racemic or levobupivacaine) on duration of post operative analgesia. 2. To compare the quality of anaesthesia either with levobupivacaine or racemic bupivacaine when combined with dexmedetomidine. 3. To observe any side effect due to dexmedetomidine or racemic or levo bupivacaine. Timepoint: post operatively epidural supplimentation done once VAS score 3 is achived | — |
