Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Postoperative moderate to severe head injury patients 2.Type of injury- Subdural hemorrhage, contusion, depressed fracture 3.Isolated head injury

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Polytrauma/Extracranial injury 2.Extradural Hemorrhage 3.Evidence of meningitis or intracranial infection 4.Multiorgan dysfunction 5.Inadequate transtemporal window for TCD 6.No consent from the patientâ??s care-giver 7.Patients in shock

Changes in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) Systolic cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFV) during the first 120 min (10, 30, 60 and 120 min) after administration of mannitol or 3% saline.Timepoint: End of 120 minutes after hypertonic agent administration
