Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted to ICU or PACu with a central venous line in subclavian or internal jugular vein and on ventilator

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: CVP tracing showing tricuspid regurgitation Patients with cardiac arrhythmias Patients who cannot tolerate disconnecting the ventilator blocked central line

to compare the standard method of cvp measurement with the more sophisticated methods of measurementTimepoint: 2 measurements will be made at an interval of 6 hours
