Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients refused to participate in the study 2.Pregnant woman 3.Associated airway pathology 4.Patients with cervical spine injury 5.Patients requiring rapid sequence induction 6.Previous head and neck surgery 7.Patients with artheitis

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the airway using various ultrasonographic parameters and compare them with the Cormack-Lehane grading.Timepoint: Before Induction and at the time of induction

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The objective is to measure tongue volume, anterior neck soft tissue thickness at the level of anterior commissure of vocal cord, measurement of hyomental distance in neutral and in extended position of neck and ratio of these two will be calculated and to compare these ultrasonic parameters for correlation with the Cormack-Lehane grading observed under direct laryngoscopy during general anaesthesia.Timepoint: Before Induction and at the time of induction
