Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis of simple migraine with or without tension type headache according to International Headache society Classification, ICHD-II. (Society H.C.S., 2004) 2. Subjects of either sex aged between 18-60 years. 3. Right handed subjects. 4. Migraine patients with at least 2 migraine attacks per month for last three months. 5. Patients taking prophylactic medication for migraine to continue the medication during study. 6. Subjects giving written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Any other type of chronic or recurrent headache. 2. Other Neurological or major psychiatric disease. 3. Other physical conditions like active infectious diseases, connective tissue diseases, other clinically relevant painful conditions including recent injuries, malignancy, previous craniotomy or cervical spine surgery, heart disease, cardiopulmonary diseases, pregnancy. 4. Having any cochlear implants, cardiac pacemaker, metal body implanted in head neck region.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. reduction in the frequency, duration and severity of migraine pain and reduction of the migraine disability in patients receiving active stimulation in comparison to sham group. 2.There was reduced sensory gating of auditory responses in migraine patients in comparison to healthy controls. 3. Interictally in migraine patients the process of sensory gating differed at different brain regions with respect to time Timepoint: After 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 12 weeks of rtms treatment

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
iTBS had no effect in altering the P50 sensory gating in migraine patientsTimepoint: baseline and after 10 session of rtms
