Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.ASA I or II physical status 2.Planned for non abdominal elective surgery 3.Consent for overnight fasting or fasting for more than 8 hours,on two occasions

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Refusal for consent 2.History of oesophageal or gastric surgery 3.Gastrointestinal diseases (gastrooesophageal reflux, hiatus hernia, or gastritis) 4.Functional gastrointestinal disorders 5.Severe liver or kidney dysfunction 6.Neuromuscular disorders 7.History of intake of drugs affecting gastric motility

To assess the gastric emptying rate and time of glucose based clear fluids with different energy content in pediatric population.Timepoint: 1.after overnight fasting 2.immediately after drinking glucose drink 3.30 minutes after glucose drink 4.60 minutes after glucose drink 5.90 minutes after glucose drink 6.120 minutes after glucose drink
