Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Males and females of any age group 2. Case of primary pterygium.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Any conjunctival and systemic malignancy 2. Any previous ocular surgery(squint, cataract) 3. Previously treated pterygium with mitomycin 4. Any case of recurrent pterygium 5. Patients with moderate to severe dry eye 6. History of any chemical exposure 7. pseudopterygium

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Outcome parameters shall be relation of quantitative (low grade, moderate grade, high grade) p53 and Ki-67 expression with that of severity and duration of pterygiumTimepoint: on day 1 postop

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
comparison of p53 and Ki-67 expression in moderate and severe group and between 4 years and 4 years duration of pterygiumTimepoint: 1 year
