Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The participants included in this study will be from regular dental camps organized by Department of Public Health dentistry, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal Those participants willing to give Informed consent Only shallow carious lesions will be included The cavity should be accessible to hand instruments The opposing tooth should be present All participants should be above 12 years of age The participant should have a functional dentition ( WHO criteria, 1992)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Presence of swelling /fistula near the carious tooth Extensive carious lesions Pulp of the tooth is exposed Pain and chronic inflammation of the pulp Inaccessibility of the carious cavity to hand instruments
