Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All cases of liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension with esophageal/ gastric/ esophago-gastric varices with or without previous episodes of bleeding
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1 Non-variceal causes of upper gastrointestinal bleeding 2 Patients on PPI or other drugs that reduce acid output in the last 6 weeks 3 Patients who have received H.pylori eradication in past 3 months 4 Patients not fit for endoscopy
