Health Condition 1: null- children of age 1 month to 24 months with difficult peripheral venous access( DIVA score 4 )(DIVA score- vein not palpable 2 points,pteterm birth-3 points, 1 year- 3 points,1 to 2 year- 1 point)

Intervention1: Difficult peripheral venous access with NIR torch: difficult peripheral venous access will be done by pediatric residents(with atleast 6 mnths exposure) using NIR torch Control Interven

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: children of age 1 month to 24 months attending JIPMER pediatric OPD,A&E,INPATIENTSand chronically ill children requiring prolonged IV access with difficult peripheral venous access (DIVA SCORE >4)are subjected

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: severe anaemia and central cyanosis

To access the success rate of first attempt cannulation by both NEAR INFRA RED SPECTROSCOPY TORCH and standard vein viewing methodTimepoint: the number of successful first attempt in placing IV access is noted

To compare the average number of pricks required to achieve a patent successful IV cannulation by NEAR INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY and srandard vein viewing method.Timepoint: the number of attempts required to place an IV access is noted.;To compare the cannulation time required by NEAR INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY torch and standard vein viewing method in establishing successful IV cannulation.Timepoint: Duration in seconds. time taken from the initiation of vein search to completion of securing IV access is noted.
