Intervention1: Teach- Back Method: The patient is given instructions by a medical care provider and is asked to relay what they have understood in their own words. Any misinterpretation is corrected.

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients who: are above the age of 18, with Diabetes type 2, on medication since 6 months or more. can understand, speak and write in English. are willing to consent to and participate in this study. are admitted in the Medicine wards of a Tertiary care Hospital. are capable of caring for themselves and do not require a caretaker. regularly test fasting and post prandial blood sugar levels. who will be coming back to the hospital after a month for a follow up.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients who: are not willing to consent to or participate in the study. do not speak English. are treated on OPD basis. are below the age of 18.
