Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Intubated patients of more than 18 years of age were included in the study
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients requiring emergency tracheostomy. 2. Patients with cervical spine injury. 3. Distorted neck anatomy 4. Any infection at the tracheostomy site 5. Morbidly obese patients( BMI > 35) 6. Platelet count less than 50000/cu. mm 7. INR more than 1.5 8. Positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP) more than 15 cm H2O. 9. Fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) requirement more than 80%.

| 1.Number of needle interventions needed to successfully enter the trachea. 2.Complication observed in both the groups. Timepoint: Needle interventions will be noted with each attempt to cannulate the trachea with the introducer needle of the tracheostomy set.Maximum 3 attempts will beconsidered. Complications will be noted during the procedure and till 24 hours post procedure. | — |
