Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Persistent chronic pyopneumothorax not resolving with medical management. 2.Patients on intercostal tube drainage for a period of more than six weeks. 3. Patients with persistent bronchopleural fistula for a period of more than six weeks. 4. Patients with fixed mediastinum. 5. Bilateral disease with one sided pyopneumothorax. 6. Patients who are judged to be not suitable for complete re-expansion of the lung with decortications.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Age less than 15 years and more than 65 years. 2. Bilateral pyopneumothorax. 3. Patient not giving consent. 4. Patient with associated co-morbidities HIV/diabetes mellitus/liver disease/renal disease/malignancy.
