Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with Subarachnoid haemorrhage posted for clipping of aneurysm

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ) Refusal to consent. 2) Patients receive general anaesthesia for digital substraction angiography 4) Patient with bleeding disorder 5) Diabetic patients(uncontrolled) 6) Pregnant/nursing female 7) Patient with known renal and hepatic disease 8) Patient with psychiatric illness, drug abusers and alcoholic 9) Patients allergic to propofol 10) Patients with posterior circulation aneurysm

To compare the effects of sevoflurane and propofol on intraoperative brain condition (brain bulge) in patients undergoing surgery for clipping of aneurysm after Subarachnoid haemorrhageTimepoint: Immediately after opening of duramater

To compare duration of ICU stay and hospital stay among the two anaesthetic techniquesTimepoint: date of icu discharge date of hospital discharge;To compare Glasgow outcome score (GOS) and modified rankin score (MRS) at the time of hospital dischargeTimepoint: at the time of discharge from hospital;To compare incidence of vasospasm in the postoperative period in the two anaesthetic techniquesTimepoint: postoperative period;To compare intraoperative hemodynamic stability and vasopressor need in the two anesthetic techniquesTimepoint: every hourly;To compare jugular venous oxygen saturation(SjVO2) in the two anaesthetic techniquesTimepoint: 1.just before the start of surgery 2.immediately after the dural opening 3.immediately after temporary clipping 4.at closure of dura;To compare recovery from anaesthesia in the two anaesthetic techniquesTimepoint: by noting time of emergence, time of extubation,time for recovery;To compare the ICP in the two anaesthetic techniquesTimepoint: after removal of bone flap and dural exposure;To compare the middle cerebral artery cerebral blood flow velocity using transcranial Doppler (TCD) in the two anaesthetic techniquesTimepoint: 1. measured 10 minutes after maintenance under assigned anaesthesia group 2. 6 hours after surgery 3. thereafter everyday until patient remains in icu
