Intervention1: Locally produced ready to use therapeutic food: Locally produced ready to use therapeutic food was prepared from groundnuts, sugar, milk powder and oil with added vitamins and minerals

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: WHZ Clinically assessed to be well i.e. Absence of danger signs such as severe anemia, cough and difficult/fast breathing, cold to touch, severe dehydration etc. No apparent infections Preserved appetite (no loss of appetite over the recent period due to any illness which the child may have had and this is based on maternal perception of childâ??s food intake)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Previous participation in similar studies 2. Presence of chronic illness 3. Persistent diarrhea 4. Allergy to any of the ingredients of the ready to use foods
