Interventions
Intervention1: tranexamic acid 10mg/kg: Tranexamic acid 10mg/kg in 100 ml NS iv half an hour before skin incision and just before tourniquet release administered. Changes in hemodynamic parameters not
every 5 minutes for the first half an hour and then every half an hour since then.
Any post operative drop in hemoglobin and transfusions if at all, in addition to hospital stay are noted.

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: ASA grade I and II posted for TKA Age group 40 â?? 70yrs No known hypersensitivity to Tranexamic acid No history of coagulation disorders
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal Bleeding disorders Preoperative haemoglobin less than 9mg/dL Preoperative blood or blood product transfusion Known allergy to tranexamic acid
