Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1All patients admitted to main intensive care unit will be screened daily till discharge or lama or death from icu 2Patients requiring mechanical ventilation alone will be analysed

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1Patients receiving palliative care 2Patients had pneumonia before ICU admission 3Patients admitted in ICU and died within 24 hours of ICU admission 4Patients 5Patients with pre-existing long term artificial airway devices 6Patients who aspirated prior to admission to ICU 7Patients intubated in other hospitals
