Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Study Inclusion Criteria 1.Pregnant women registered at 34 weeks to 36 weeks of pregnancy and till 6 weeks after delivery 2.Singletons 3.Ethnicity South India 4.Full-term deliveries from day 1 to day 15 and till 1 year
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Study Exclusion criteria 1.Mothers with thyroid disorders 2.Drugs for cardiac diseases/Iodine ointments 3.Preterm deliveries 4.Congenital anomalies 5.Ethnicity other than South India 6.Multiple gestations 7.Refusal of Consent

| Maternal Components 1.Current excretion values of iodine in pregnancy in third trimester 2.To identify mothers with iodine deficiency/excess /normal status 3.To identify mothers with euthyroid , hypo and hyperthyroid status. 4.Percentage of iodised salt consumed Neonatal Components 1.Newborns growth profile parameters 2.Neonatal thyroid functioning profiles will help to identify euthyroid, hypo and hyperthyroid status Timepoint: For maternal outcomes time points will be from 34 weeks to 39 weeks of gestation and again at time of delivery upto 2 weeks postpartum.For newborns timepoint will be initially from day of birth till 15 days and again at 1 year of age for neurological growth and developmental assessments . | — |

| Research Project will help to analyse Indian pregnant women urinary iodine excretory reference ranges thyroid profile reference ranges in both physiological and pathological conditions. Regarding neonates effects of maternal thyroid abnormalities on growth rates and development at birth will be highlighted.Timepoint: For mothers at delivery and at 6 weeks postpartum and 1 year after delivery.For newborns at birth , 6 weeks and at 1 year of age for followup and neurodevelopmental assessments respectively. | — |
