Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Anaesthesiology residents 2. Those anaesthesiology residents who will be posted in operation theatres which will be anticipated to function for more than 12 hours based on the Operation Theatre case list.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Has worked in night shift on the previous night. 2. Any disabilities or trauma on their hands. 3. History of any central nervous system disease that can impair test performance (head injury, intracranial infection, stroke and brain tumour). 4. History of diabetes mellitus, hypertension. 5. Those residents who participated in the study previously.

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the cognitive and psychomotor performance in anaesthesiology residents before and after 12 hours of continuous work in operation theatre using set of 5 tests. 1. Manual dexterity test using purdue pegboard. 2. Finger tapping test. 3. Visual spatial capacity memory test. 4. Digit symbol substitution test. 5. Frontal assessment battery.Timepoint: 12 hours.
