Intervention1: Calcium and Vit D syrup: Syrup contains calcium 125 mg and Vit D3 125 IU
Control Intervention1: placebo syrup: syrup contains all the ingredients except the calcium and vit D

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All apparently healthy infants weighing more than 2.0 Kg at recruitment (15 days after birth) whose parents stated that they will reside in their present home for atleast 2 years and agreed to give the supplement to their infants for the next 24 months
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Infants weighing less than 2.0 Kg or had health problems ; parents who mentioned that they will be shifting from their present home in near future; parents who did not agree to participate in the study
