Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: CASES 1. All patients with patchy hair loss diagnosed as alopecia areata either clinically or following biopsy irrespective of age and sex. 2. All patients of alopecia areata not systemically treated with corticosteroid or immunosuppressants. CONTROLS 1. Age and sex matched individuals without alopecia areta.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients not consenting to participate in the study. 2. Patients who have received any topical or systemic treatment during the last two months will be excluded. 3.All Known cases of inflammatory diseases or autoimmune diseases will be ruled out.

Increased level of tnf-alpha in patients with alopecia areata Find out dermoscopic features in patiets with alopecia areataTimepoint: Increased level of TNF-alpha will be assessed in a period of 18 months
