Intervention1: Doxycycline: oral Doxycycline at a dose of 5mg/kg twice a day for 7 days
Control Intervention1: Placebo: Salt without active ingredient which looks similar to the drug

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: children between 8yrs and 18yrs with confirmed dengue fever
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: children in whom oral medications are contraindicated children with known hypersensitivity to Doxycycline Children on antiepileptic drugs children who have recieved doxycycline elsewhere for present illness
