Health Condition 1: null- Age more than18 yrs,intubated more than 48 hrs,willing to participate,either sex

Interventions

Intervention1: Suction above cuff endotracheal tube: Endotracheal aspirates samples shall be collected within 24 hours of intubation and repeated every 48 hours and additionally subglottic secretions

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Either sex, intubated more than 48 hrs,willing to participate

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age less than 18 yrs, patients already on tracheostomy,patients intubated outside the hospital,death of patients within 48 hrs,patients relatives not giving consent

MeasureTime frame
Incidence of VAP in both groups and assessment of severity through CPIS scaleTimepoint: Samples will be collected with 24 hrs of intubation and then repeated at 48 and 96 hrs.
