Health Condition 1: null- Diabetic Foot

Interventions

Intervention1: Vacuum Assisted Closure: This will be done by filling the cleaned wound with a saline soaked gauze, then placing two layers of pads/roller pads with a drain tube between the two layers.
and then covering it with pads/roller pads followed by roller bandage.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients admitted in JIPMER surgical wards with diabetic foot ulcer

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Venous disease 2. Coagulopathy 3. Osteomyelitis 4. Charcotâ??s joint 5. Ulcers of Wagner Grade III, IV and V 6. Peripheral Vascular Disease 7. Diabetic foot ulcers in both feet

MeasureTime frame
The time taken for satisfactory wound healing following VAC therapy and conventional dressing in patients with diabetic foot ulcersTimepoint: every 48 hours

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To compare granulation tissue formation 2. Complications of VAC therapy compared with conventional dressing: Pain, Bleeding, culture sensitivityTimepoint: 1. every 7 days 2. every 7 days
