Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: pateients who were freshly diagnosed as hypothyroid with serum levels of TSH >4.98m IU/L; FT3 5mm and clinical attachment loss of >3 mm with more than 20 teeth present are included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: male patients,patients who are under thyroxine replacement therapy,primary hypothyroid patients,smokers, pregnant females and antibiotic therapy 1 month before or periodontal therapy 6 months before the study.

Periodontal parameters such as plaque index,probing pocket depth,clinical attachment loss,bleeding on probing.Serum levels of total cholesterols, triglycerides, LDL-C,HDL-C,TSH,fT3,fT4.BMI of the patients are taken.Timepoint: Initial recording after enrollment of the subjects
