Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA I and II, >18years of age patients, scheduled to undergo elective thyroidectomy under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Suspected or confirmed extensive malignant disease. 2. Preoperative voice abnormalities. 3. Mallampatti grade III and IV 4. BMI >30kg/m2 5.Patients with limited neck extension 6. Previous neck surgeries 7. Patientâ??s refusal to participate in the study.

Our primary objective will be to compare the use of TLUSG with that of video laryngoscope for assessing the accuracy of vocal cord mobility following thyroidectomy.Timepoint: preoperatively at intubation at extubation
