Health Condition 1: null- Chronic Periodontitis patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Interventions

Intervention1: Nonsurgical Periodontal therapy with adjunct systemic doxycycline: Scaling root planning and oral hygiene instruction along with adjunct oral doxycycline 100 mg once daily for 2 weeks

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients with type 2 Diabetes mellitus with HbA1C greater than 6.5 2.Presence of at least 20 teeth 3.Probing pocket depth greater than 4mm 4.Clinical attachment loss greater than 2mm

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Pregnant and lactating women. 2.Patients who have undergone periodontal treatment in the last 3 months. 3.Smokers & Alcoholics. 4.Patients with any oromucosal abnormality and infection 5.Patients undergoing orthodontic treatment 6.Patients with rheumatoid arthritis, COPD, renal or liver disease, malignancy or bleeding diathesis
