Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria 1 Pregnant women of all ages, belonging to American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Grade I to Grade IV admitted in the hospital 2 The study includes all pregnant patients between 6weeks of gestation and 6 weeks postpartum 3 Both elective and emergency admissions are included 4 The patients referred from other hospitals and admitted to Niloufer Hospital are also included

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 The study excludes the patients managed on Outpatient basis. 2 The study excludes the patients who are not pregnant 3 Pregnancy 4 Mothers >6weeks postpartum are excluded 5 The study excludes the patients in early pregnancy admitted for termination of pregnancy 6 The study excludes the patients admitted in the family planning ward for the purpose of tubectomy

1. Identification of Mothers who triggered orange or Red 2. Among those triggered, analysis of those who developed morbidity and who did not 4. The overall sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value of SMS chart in predicting maternal morbidity. 5. Comparison of Maternal and foetal morbidity in 2 groups with or without the SMS Chart Timepoint: At the time of delivery and immediate neonatal perod

1. Identify the most common trigger in the SMS chart 2. Identify the most common morbidity 3. Identify the need for emergency obstetric intervention (caesarean section, ventouse or forceps delivery) 4. Overall hospital stay in patients of the two groups 5. Need for transfer to Medical Units requiring further specialist care Timepoint: At the time of delivery and immediate neonatal period
