Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: proven or clinically suspected case of perforation peritonitis undergoing emergency laparotomy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients or relativeâ??s refusal to consent for study 2. History of previous exploratory laparotomy in the current hospitalization period 3. History of ICU stay in last 6months 4. Pre-existing significant cardiac, renal and hepatic diseases 5. Chronic alcoholic 6. Intraoperative massive blood loss or massive transfusion
