Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.All subjects willing to participate in the study. 2.The subjects must have atleast 20 teeth in case of chronic periodontits with probing depth of >= 5mm, clinical attachment level >= 3mm, and radiographic evidence of alveolar bone loss on at least 2 teeth per quadrant excluding the third molars. 3.All the patients should be systemically healthy and should not have received periodontal treatment for at least 6 months prior to the clinical examination and sampling.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Smokers and alcoholic patients. 2.Pregnant and lactating mothers. 3.Subjects on any medication taken within the last 6 months which may alter the periodontal status.
