Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. All preterm neonates admitted within 1 week of life in Neonatal intensive care unit during the study period. 2. Term neonates admitted within 1 week of life with any one of the following risk factors will be included in the study. a. Neonatal encephalopathy b. Culture proven sepsis (Blood/Urine/CSF) /clinical sepsis (CRP > 15 mg / L) c. Severe hyperbilirubinemia (Total serum bilirubin >20mg/dl) d. Symptomatic hypoglycaemia e. Neonates with shock requiring inotropes f. All other neonates who warrant follow-up as they develop increased risk of NDD.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Proven intra uterine infection 2. Major congenital malformations requiring surgery 3. Proven Inborn error of metabolism 4. Proven genetic condition in the neonate
