Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients willing to participate 2. age criteria 30-60 yrs 3. atleast 20 teeth, with chronic periodontitis in both maxillary quadrants 4. systemically healthy 5. no periodontal treatment 6 months prior to clinical examination and sampling

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Smokers and alcoholic patients. 2. Pregnant and lactating mothers. 3. Subjects on any medication taken within the last 6 months which may alter the periodontal status.
