Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Critically ill children admitted with severe sepsis in pediatric intensive care unit
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Children with chest tube with an active air leak or bronchopleural fistula, significant leak in the ventilator circuit or endotracheal tube (leak of >10% as significant), children requiring FiO2 >60% or those on high frequency oscillatory ventilation will be excluded
