Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: At least 30 pediatric patients 1- 10 years of age, with TBI admitted to trauma intensive care unit (ICU) for mechanical ventilation will be included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The following children will be excluded from the study: 1. Refusal to give consent for inclusion into the study. 2. Patients with spinal cord injuries. 3. Patients who leave against medical advice.

1. To determine patient outcome using the Modified Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS)Timepoint: 3 months following discharge from hospital

1. To characterize the factors which may affect outcome. 2. To determine patient outcome using the Modified Rankin Scale(MRS) at- A. Discharge from hospital B. To determine patient outcome using the Modified Glasgow outcome scale (GOS) at i. 1 month following discharge ii. Total ventilator days iii. Hospital acquired complications, if any iv. In-hospital mortality v. length of stay in ICU (in days) vi. Length of stay in the hospital (in days) Timepoint: 1. at discharge from hospital 2. 1 month following discharge from hospital
