Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Newly diagnosed drug naive epileptic patients aged between 18-60 years of age of either gender Patients who will be initiated on monotherapy with phenytoin or levetiracetam or oxcarbazepine Patients who are willing to give informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with history of psychiatric or progressive neurological disorders Patients with history of other co morbid conditions like ischemic heart disease kidney disease liver disease thyroid disorders and other endocrinopathies Patients with history of diseases that could influence the level of oxidative stress such as diabetes mellitus arterial hypertension malignancies recent surgery and trauma Patients on drugs that influence the level of oxidative stress such as vitamins herbal medicines for the last 3 months Pregnant and lactating women
