Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: patients with 18-70 yrs of age, ASA grade I and II, undergoing elective major abdominal surgery will be enrolled after taking informed written consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients refusing to participate in the study, emergency surgeries, laparoscopic surgeries, re-exploration surgeries, allergy to local anaesthetic drugs, coagulopathies, patients on anticoagulants, more than three attempts for epidural placement and patients who cannot be extubated within 2 hours of surgery will be excluded.
