Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Children aged 6-59 months with complicated or uncomplicated SAM by MUAC (MUAC - Written informed consent from one legal guardian of the child
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Bilateral pitting edema - Suspected or confirmed congenital health conditions (eg cerebral palsy, congenital heart disease, cleft palate) which would predispose children to non-recovery - Suspected or confirmed chronic health conditions (eg diabetes, hypothyroidism, HIV, TB) which would predispose children to non-recovery. - Previously enrolled and discharged from study and meeting admission criteria for SAM by MUAC (MUAC - Children from outside the study area for whom follow-up may not be possible
