Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Systemically healthy patients 2. Bilateral moderate or advanced periodontitis in at least one arch which required periodontal surgery as confirmed by radiographs. 3. Previous history of treatment in both quadrants must be similar and the type and extent of surgical therapy indicated must be the same on both sides 4. minimum of 20 teeth 5. periodontal probing depth (PPD) equal to or greater than 5mm. 6. Consenting patients who are co-operative and able to come for regular follow up

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant /lactating women 2. Patients on antibiotic or NSAIDs therapy in the previous six months. 3. Patients who have undertaken any periodontal therapy in past 6 months 4. Smokers 5. Patients who are medically compromised or under therapeutic regimen that may alter the probability of tissue healing. 6. Patients who are known or suspected to be allergic to curcumin.
