Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients both male and female between age group of 18 to 65 years admitted in ICU Pre and post operative patients with traumatic brain and spinal chord injury and associated multisystemic involvement admitted in ICU Variables pertaining to neurological conditions like initial GCS at the time of admission, CT scan findings, ICP monitoring in case of head injury patients, assessment of sensory and motor power especially in spinal chord injury patients was recorded. Following non-neurological complications parameters were recorded Respiratory: Lung infiltration on chest X-ray PaO2/FiO2 PaO2/FiO2 200-300(ABG) Atelectasis on X-ray Cardiovascular: Hypotension(Systolic blood pressure[SBP] Hypertension(SBP >160mmHg) Arrhythmias ( Heart rate[HR] 120beats/min) Dopamine, dobutamine or norepinephrine-its use and escalation Infection: Sepsis (WBC count 1100 /ml ,Temp >38.0°C (100.4°F) or 36°C (96.8°F) Septic shock (features of sepsis with SBP 90 beats/min Acute kidney injury (AKI): Serum creatinine >2mg/dL with or without dialysis Abdominal complications: Ileus(absent bowel sound) Diarrhoea, Bilirubin levels > 2mg/dL Aspartate amino transferase (AST) > 60U/L) Electrolytical complications: Hyponatremia: (Na level Hypernatremia(Na level > 150 mmol/L) Hyperkalemia(K level >5.0mmol/L) Hypokalemia(K level Hypocalcemia(Ca level Bleeding complications: In terms of requirement of blood and blood products Criteria for disabilities in case of head injury is the detioration of motor response component of GCS score during ICU stay when compared to the time of ICU admission. In case of cervical injured patients, the disability is any decrease in sensory or motor function developed post ICU admission.

Exclusion criteria: Patients other then primary brain and spinal chord injury admitted in ICU Patients with primary brain and spinal chord injury not admitted in ICU
