Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1. To study the correlation between Serum Lactate and PCVCO2-PaCO2 / CaO2-CCVO2 ratio measured at various time points to a maximum of 24h in patients with sepsis presenting with hypotension (Mean arterial pressure 65mmHg )Timepoint: 1. Half-hourly for a maximum of 2h 2. Samples at 6,12 and 24h thereafter | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1. To study the relationship between the PcvCO2-PaCO2 / CaO2-CcvO2 ratio and lactate clearance at 6, 12 and 24 hrs as compared to the initial arterial lactate. 2. To study the correlation between the arterial lactate and the PcvCO2-PaCO2 gap at each measurement. 3. To study the outcome in terms of ICU length of stay, organ dysfunction and mortality at Day 28 of enrolment into the study Timepoint: 1. Relationship between the PcvCO2-PaCO2 / CaO2-CcvO2 ratio and lactate clearance at 6, 12 and 24 hrs 2. Correlation between the arterial lactate and the PcvCO2-PaCO2 gap at each measurement 3. Outcome in terms of ICU length of stay, organ dysfunction and mortality at Day 28 of enrolment | — |
