Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients of age more than eighteen years 2.Patients scheduled for elective major upper abdominal surgery 3.Patients willing and able to consent and communicate properly 4.American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) I â?? III

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Consent refusal 2.ASA > III 3.Age is less than 18 years 4.Laparoscopic surgery 5.Patients with chest tubes 6.Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) 7.Patients with history of any lung pathology like tuberculosis, sarcoidosis or any restrictive lung disease

Change in Modified Lung Ultrasound Score at each study point in patients ventilated with PEEP and without PEEPTimepoint: 1. Before GA induction (time point A) 2. 10 minutes after GA induction (time point B) 3. 2 hrs after induction of GA (time point C) 4. Before end of surgery (time point D) 5. 30 mins after shifting to Recovery room (time point E)
