This is an interventional trial to compare and evaluate the efficacy of chorion membrane in combination with demineralized freeze dried bone allograft and demineralized freeze dried bone allograft alone in treatment of grade II furcation defects. This is a clinicoradiographic study.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with moderate to advanced periodontitis as assessed by probing pocket depth (PPD) greater than or equal to 5mm and clinical attachment level (CAL) greater than or equal to 5mm Patients with at least one pair of bilateral Grade II furcation defects in either maxillary or mandibular arch

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with history of systemic diseases allergies or drug usage Patients who have undergone periodontal treatment in previous 6 months Pregnant and lactating women

Primary

Improvement in Periodontal Status that is reduction in Probing Pocket Depth, gain in Clinical Attachment Level, Bone Fill in Furcation area (seen by advanced radiography that is CBCT)Timepoint: 6 months

Reduction in Plaque scores and Gingival Bleeding scores representing improvement in Gingival (soft tissue) statusTimepoint: 3 and 6 months
