Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: For FCPD group:All the patients with FCPD attending the clinic during the time period were included For Type 2 Diabetes group: 1. Patients diagnosed with T2DM at least 1 year before the time of periodontal status assessment 2. Patients above the age of 12 years. 3. Minimum of 20 teeth present

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with other systemic diseases which may affect the periodontal status (Osteoporosis , Rheumatoid Arthritis etc), 2. pregnant and lactating mothers 3. Patients taking medications which may affect the periodontal status (Nifedipine, Cyclosporine, Phenytoin etc) 4. Patients with acute condition that contraindicate a periodontal examination. 5. Patients who received periodontal therapy past 1 year. 6. Patients not willing to sign informed consent
