Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Group 1 (20-44 years) & 2 ( > 60 years): 1)Subjects should have bilateral pure tone threshold within normal limits( 2)Bilateral normal middle ear functioning as indicated by immittance evaluation. Group 3: 1)Subjects should have bilateral hearing loss 2)Bilateral normal middle ear functioning as indicated by immittance evaluation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: •Presence or history of hearing problem (group 1 & 2) •Presence or history of any neurological deficit •Presence or history of ototoxic drug intake •Previous history of medical conditions like head injury, cerebrovascular accident, meningitis, psychological disease and associated endocrine disorder like myxedema

Aim 1)Explore the influence of Aging and Age-related Hearing loss on auditory processing. OBJECTIVES 1)Compare the latency and amplitude of P300, ALLR, MMSE between young controls, elderly without hearing loss and elderly with hearing loss. Timepoint: 9 months
