Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Presence of bacterial vaginosis diagnosed by Amselâ??s criteria. Amselâ??s criteria (if 3 of the 4 criteria are positive, the patient has bacterial vaginosis)16 Homogenous white discharge • pH of the vagina being > 4.5, • The presence of clue cells • Positive whiff test

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Pregnant and lactating women. • Recent h/o topical or systemic use of antibiotics (within 1 month) • Patients using OCPs and IUCDs • Organic pelvic pathology, Sexually transmitted diseases and systemic illness.
